Back Home

I've learnt a valuable lesson that if you want to keep a blog uptodate you need your own PC rather than trying to borrow someone else's! Any excuse to buy a new laptop.

Anyway we're all back safe and sound - apart from Tom's snowboarding which North West managed to lose although I think he's got it back now. No serious* injuries just the usual bumps, bruises and sprains

*serious means requiring professional medical attention rather than a couple of painkillers.

I've added some photos to the online album linked below and also uploaded the short video Woody put together before we left. The video can be seen at:

It might not be ready get, Google said they were doing some processing first!

Utah

And for those wanting to know how the other SnD 2008 trip is going go here

Friday Update

I'll try and add some pictures over the weekend. We've got Internet connectivity in the chalet now thanks to a couple of laptops so it should be a bit easier. Plenty of video footage from Woody's headcam - still editing it, but I'll try and get it online.
Despite his best efforts Tom still hasn't broken the land speed record for a snowboard. Bashers and Madeleine have tried little skis. Kev has had a go on a snowboard but is back on skis. Bry has been in a half-pipe. Maria has new snowboarding trousers. I have a new pair of boots and a new nickname - "Yogi". Rob has been eyeing up more snowboards when Bry isn't looking. James made too much porridge this morning and Woody is still trying to keep up with Madeleine.
Taking a day off today after face-planting hard yesterday on the way home and injuring my shoulder. The aptly named "Four O'Clock" run takes us to within about 200 metres of the chalet which is nice.
Played chicken with a piste-basher yesterday as well. The piste-basher won.

First update from Breckenridge

We arrived on Saturday night after 22 hours travelling. No one got left behind or detained by customs (despite Kev's best efforts) Booking a chef was a good idea, food was waiting for us when we arrived! Woody arrived as planned on Sunday evening, bringing a headcam with him.

Two days on the mountain so far. All going well, no injuries just tired and happy.

Updates will be a bit sparse as I need to walk to the internet cafe at the other end of Breckenridge.

My First Post

Hello,

As I'm on holiday with friends to go snowboarding I thought I'd start a blog to keep family and friends not with us uptodate. No idea how often I'll update it though - we'll see how it goes.

Anyway there's ten of us off to Breckenridge on Saturday for two weeks of snowboarding. We've got a logo, a chalet, lift-passes and lots of kit.
